As well as putting the actual game of football on hold for the time being, the Covid-19 pandemic is causing a few clubs to second guess what they want to do with certain players.
Rangers are no different, as they will, at some point in the near future, need to decide whether or not to make Ianis Hagi’s loan from KRC Genk permanent.
They have an option to do so in the original agreement, but their reluctance to do so as of yet is encouraging other clubs to come forward, with Lazio in Italy the recurring name in the transfer rumours.
Thursday is no different, as Il Tempo have an article on the matter, explaining Steven Gerrard’s side ‘don’t seem intent on exercise the right of purchase’, which allows the Serie A side to ‘come into play’.
Claudio Lotito’s club are ‘allegedly ready to put €10m on the table’ for the 21-year-old, who has been ‘singled out’ by director of football Igli Tare as a reinforcement for the attack.
If you ask us, just by reading the original article, it seems a bit flimsy, especially with the newspaper’s use of ‘allegedly’, suggesting this might not be Il Tempo’s information, but just something they have seen/heard elsewhere.
We only say this because, reading the Italian newspapers everyday, we often see Ianis Hagi stories, only for the text to explain it’s originated from Scotland or Romania.
This one doesn’t, however, which is why we covered it, but we won’t be holding our breath just yet.
