Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Patrick Cutrone is edging towards making a surprise switch to Como 1907, according to claims from Italy.
Having sealed a deal for Cesc Fàbregas earlier in the window, the Serie B side have now ‘practically closed the deal’ to sign the 24-year-old.
That’s according to Sky Italia, who state the striker will arrive from Wolves on a permanent transfer and sign a contract until 2025.
It’s not made clear whether his deal [runs down in 2023] with the Premier League side will be terminated or if they will receive a transfer fee.
Sky’s claim is also been backed by QuiComo, who state the ex-Milan man will arrive at the Italian club from Wolves and sign a three-year deal.
It’s claimed the player ‘strongly wanted to return’ to the place of his birth, to get his career on track.
The Premier League side took Cutrone from Milan in 2019 and six months later sent him on loan to Fiorentina. He spent the last 18 months on loan at Valencia and Empoli.
A move to Como can help Cutrone relaunch his career and also end the disappointing spell at Wolves.
