As Raphinha’s transfer from Leeds United to Barcelona continues to hit the world football media, we now get to see something interesting from France regarding the move.
Outlet L’Equipe now writes about the amount that his former club Rennes are about to make with this transaction.
The outlet writes that when selling Raphinha to Leeds for €17m plus €6m in bonuses back in 2020, they also agreed the percentage ‘on a capital gain on resale’, which hadn’t been disclosed at the time.
The good news for Leeds is that since the transfer to Barça will be paid in several instalments, they are also authorised to pass the French side their money in separate payments as well.
Since arriving from France, Raphinha featured for the Whites for only two seasons, in which he had 17 goals and 12 assists in 67 appearances for the Elland Road side.
The 25-year-old, who started his career at Avaí, always stayed for a short period at clubs, having moved to Vitória Guimarães, Sporting, Rennes, Leeds and now Barcelona.
