Kevin Wimmer managed 357 minutes of Premier League football in the season just ended, which pretty much shows his prominence at Tottenham Hotspur isn’t increasing and doesn’t look like it will anytime in the near future.
The season before, Wimmer enjoyed 813 minutes of Premier League football for Tottenham, so his return during the last campaign, when he’ll have been looking for an increase, is less than half what is was previously.
At 24 years of age, Wimmer may well consider that it’s time to break from Spurs and try his luck elsewhere. Bild have had their attention caught by English claims of a possible exit, and they believe both Wimmer and FC Koln will be considering a reunion.
However, as the German newspaper once again point out, that isn’t the crucial factor. Tottenham, and therefore Mauricio Pochettino, will have the final word on an exit, and even if the manager agrees, FC Koln or anyone else will have to come up with a transfer fee to please Daniel Levy.
With a contract until June 2021, Wimmer is at the mercy of Tottenham.
