Juventus are planning to sell midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer, a fact that should interest Everton, where the player remains ‘a real passion’ for Carlo Ancelotti.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who explain that Rabiot will be sold as the Italian giants look to fund a move for Manuel Locatelli.
It’s explained that the 23-year-old is a ‘concrete goal’ for Juventus this summer, thanks to Andrea Pirlo, who believes he is ready to ‘take the reins’ of his midfield.
Juve chief Fabio Paratici already tried to sign the player last summer but was knocked back by Sassuolo, who insisted any deal would have to be a permanent one for €40m.
That remains the case, but Juve have maintained contact with their fellow Italians ahead of a potential move, although that is dependent on whether they can raise funds from at least two big sales.
On that front, Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey will be put up for sale, and the Frenchman remains a ‘real passion’ for Carlo Ancelotti at Everton.
The Italian is the man who gave Rabiot his debut at Paris Saint Germain, and ever since he arrived at Goodison Park, it’s been clear he would love to reunite with the player on Merseyside.
There have been a plethora of rumours linking him with a move over the last year, and that has picked up again in the last few weeks, with several reports indicating he is a target for Everton this summer.
Indeed earlier this month it was stated the Blues had already made a bid and that was soon followed up by the suggestion Juventus would be open to a sale.
Calciomercato have now backed that up here and it seems Everton and Rabiot will spend the next few weeks and months being linked to each other as we get closer to the summer transfer window.
