Olivier Giroud has hardly been used by Frank Lampard this season and the striker has not featured for Chelsea since the end of November.

Over the past few months, there’s been various reports talking about Inter Milan’s interest in acquiring the France international’s services in the winter market.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Tuesday that Antonio Conte’s side believe they need ‘perhaps less patience’ to get the deal over the line because Chelsea won’t put up too much fight for his transfer.

It was also suggested the Blues are demanding €10m for the former Arsenal man, while the Serie A side want to pay half of that.

Sky Italia claims the overall operation to sign the World Cup winner should be closed for €4.5m plus bonuses, with both parties working on the final details.

Once there’s a definitive agreement between two clubs, Giroud will sign a two-and-a-half-year contract at the San Siro.

He will replace Matteo Politano at Inter as he’s one step away from AS Roma. Sky adds Inter are planning to close the operation by this weekend.

Giroud’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires after this season and failure from Chelsea to cash in from his sale in January will force them to see the player leave for free next summer.
