Once linked with a move to Palermo, Kemar Roofe won’t be playing at Leeds United this season.

According to Het Laatste Nieuws, the player will instead be signing for RSC Anderlecht in Belgium, where he has put pen to paper on a three-year deal.

The striker, who performed rather well last season under Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road, will cost the Jupiler Pro League side ‘more than €7m’, and there’s hope he will continue his goalscoring form under Vincent Kompany.

The former Manchester City defender took over at the Belgian side earlier in the summer as a player-manager, and has already recruited a number of players for his new look team.

Kemar Roofe is just the latest addition to a revamped Anderlecht, and despite injuring his ankle while on the Australian leg of Leeds’ preseason tour, the setback ‘was not an obstacle’ for the interested club, even if it means he could be on the sidelines for a few weeks before joining his soon-to-be new teammates on the training ground.

In fact, it’s stated Anderlecht reckon he should be ready for the fifth match of the Jupiter Pro League season.
