Hakim Ziyech has been reportedly trying to get a move away from Chelsea and the option to return to Ajax emerged earlier this summer.
On Tuesday, the Eredivisie side confirmed they have agreed a deal with Manchester United for Antony. This would have opened the door for the 29-year-old Chelsea player to make a move to Amsterdam.
Later that day, De Telegraaf journalist Mike Verweij took to Twitter to report the deal to bring the Chelsea player to Ajax was ‘off’. Thomas Tuchel then included the Moroccan in the west London club’s starting lineup for their 2-1 defeat to Southampton yesterday.
De Telegraaf now state the Dutch club ‘seem to be in panic’ as they have knocked on Ziyech’s door ‘again’.
He had initially informed them that a loan move is not negotiable. That didn’t stop Ajax from calling their former player again on Wednesday.
The transfer formula still remains to be an issue and De Telegraaf explain a deal could be carried out only if both Ziyech and Chelsea ‘change their minds’ with regards to a loan move. For now, it’s a ‘no’
The possibility that Ajax will pay €25m to the Premier League side to sign Ziyech ‘seems small’.
