Takvim claim Fenerbahce have started talks with Manchester United with regards to signing Marouane Fellaini.
The Turkish newspaper reports Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t see Fellaini in his plans and subsequently the Turkish club are hoping to snap up the Belgian midfielder. The player hasn’t started in Solskjaer’s first two games in charge of the Red Devils.
Fellaini became a key player under former manager Jose Mourinho but after the Portuguese’s departure, the Turkish media believe things are very different.
According to Takvim, Fellaini could also look to leave the Premier League club and that he would consider signing for Fenerbahce if the personal terms are suitable for him.
It’s reported Fenerbahce’s board are insisting on this transfer and if they can convince Fellaini over personal terms then the Turkish club will make an official offer to Manchester United.
The 31 year old has made 20 appearances for Manchester United this season and is under contract with the club until June 2020.
Turkish rumours have long existed for Fellaini, with repeat claims of agreed deals, or a move being almost agreed, coming and going in recent years. Therefore, further rumours were inevitable given Mourinho’s departure.
The midfielder pushed for the biggest contract he could get from his current club and it’s unlikely he’d be able to match it in Turkey.
