Young Boys are in contact with Norwich City’s Christian Fassnacht about a possible move to the club.
That’s according to Berner Zeitung, who report that Young Boys are interested in bringing the 30-year-old back to the club.
The Swiss side have endured a disappointing start to the season so far and are planning big changes in the transfer window if they can.
The belief is that the squad simply isn’t good enough and BZ report that has led to contacts with Fassnacht about a potential return.
He left for Norwich in a €3m deal in July 2023 after six years at the club in which he made 251 appearances and won five Swiss Super League titles, two Swiss Cups and was in the Swiss Super League Team of the Year in 2020, 2021 and 2023.
His current deal with Norwich expires in June 2025 but does include an option for a further year should the Championship side wish to activate it.
He’s only managed one appearance for the Canaries this season, the opening day 2-0 defeat to Oxford United, but has been out since with Achilles tendon problems.
Young Boys clearly think there may be a deal there to be done, although it’s unclear what type of deal they’re looking at, and contacts have been opened with their former player as a result.
