Antalyaspor spokesman Cumhur Arici has confirmed the club have failed to agree a deal for Vasco de Gama defender Ramon Motta, and Sabah report the Turkish club have switched their attention to Nottingham Forest’s Armand Traore.

Arici said they wanted to bring back their former player Motta but Vasco de Gama’s president blocked the deal.

The spokesman revealed they are currently evaluating their options at left back and Sabah claim Traore is now their first choice, and initial contacts have been positive.

Earlier in this transfer window we covered reports from Turkish press that Traore is a target for Antalyaspor. Sabah now report the Turkish club are set to open official talks with Nottingham Forest for the 28 year old.

Traore still has one year left on his Nottingham Forest contract but there’s a strong possibility that he could leave the City Ground before the start of the season, if the claims from Turkey are correct.

The former Arsenal left back spent the second half of last season on loan at promoted Cardiff City, and made four appearances for the Welsh club.
