Various claims about Celtic and Diego Laxalt have appeared in the Italian media over the past 24 hours.

Tuttosport reported AC Milan will open the door to a permanent sale should Celtic make an offer for the player. The 28-year-old has had a mixed season with the Scottish Premiership side, and earlier reports from Italy indicated his future could be tied to that of Neil Lennon.

After the manager’s exit it’s insisted the interest from Celtic in a permanent deal hasn’t stopped and there are now claims of efforts been made on the transfer. SportMediaSet, one of Italy’s major sport broadcasters, report that Celtic have now decided to make Laxalt’s stay a longer term thing.

There are said to be negotiations ongoing between the Glasgow club and the Rossoneri, with Celtic looking to secure Laxalt at a discounted price. Such a scenario isn’t ruled in Italy, with it being made clear Milan see no future for the player with them and are waiting to offload him for good.

At this stage, there’s no indication of what Milan will accept.
