On Thursday, we covered Gerard Deulofeu’s interview with the Spanish media where he admitted he would be looking for a way out from Watford.
Few can blame him since he was one of their best players prior to his injury, and with many teams around Europe likely willing to offer him top flight football, an exit seems the likeliest.
Watford will also want to make some money from his sale, which is where Milan could come in; a club the Spaniard knows well from a previous loan spell there.
His interview sent a few tongues wagging over in Italy, and Corriere dello Sport give us an update on the situation from the Serie A club’s end.
They state both Paolo Maldini and Federico Massara have had ‘more than one chat’ with Deulofeu’s agent, but that doesn’t mean a move is around the corner.
Milan ‘haven’t discarded’ the Spaniard from their plans, but they ‘want to wait the last few days if the transfer window to get him at favourable conditions, as an icing on the cake’.
As things stand, their priorities are elsewhere, but it’s pointed out once more ‘they like the player and he could be the deal to have in the final rush’.
