Newcastle United’s Jamaal Lascelles has less than six months left on his deal and Beşiktaş are keen on signing him in the winter market.
On Sunday, Sabah reported the Turkish club want to pay a small amount to buy him and his contract situation gives them optimism of getting the deal over the line, despite the Magpies’ desire to retain him.
It was also stated the 30-year-old, who is considering his future at Newcastle, is looking for a long-term deal.
Fotomaç have a report on the Black Eagles’ fresh offers to try and sign the centre-back this month.
It’s claimed Beşiktaş officials will be flying to England in the coming days to ‘complete the transfer’ of the defender.
According to the report, the Istanbul club initially received a negative response in their transfer pursuit and then increased contacts with the player. Their officials will soon make a trip to England, to carry out a deal for him… that’s their plan anyway.
Lascelles has made 22 appearances this season and the report states Eddie Howe’s side want to retain him until the end of this season.
The optimism in Istanbul may well be misplaced.
