Sportime journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos claims AEK Athens officials are optimistic about signing Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham this summer.
Last week there were reports from Greece that AEK are interested in signing the French midfielder, along with newly promoted Championship side Blackpool and Turkish club Sivasspor.
Chorianopoulos say AEK’s interest in the Celtic player remains and they are hopeful they can get a deal done for him.
The Greek side could be short of midfielders ahead of next season with Andre Simoes sidelined due to injury and Nenad Kristicic looking to leave the club in order to return to Serbia. Subsequently they’ve turned their attention to the Celtic man.
Ntcham was loaned out to French side Marseille during the winter transfer window, but he only managed to make four appearances in Ligue 1.
Marseille have an option to make Ntcham’s stay permanent, but it’s been well documented that they will not exercise this.
His contract with Celtic will expire at the end of June 2022 and it’s likely the Scottish side will look to offload him this summer.
