By this stage, it now looks clear that Lucas Torreira won’t be staying either at Atletico Madrid or Arsenal after the end of the season.
Loaned by the Gunners to the Colchoneros last summer, the midfielder failed to impress during his spell in Spain, and is now expected to look for a new destination.
Both he and his father revealed his wish is to play for Boca Juniors, not only because he’s a fan of the Argentine side, but also due to his will to return to South America following the death of his mother.
However, according to a story from Libertad Digital, the Buenos Aires club haven’t made a move for Torreira.
It’s said the club have yet to try to know the conditions for his signing, and haven’t even called Arsenal yet.
But there’s one club who made a move, and that’s Sevilla.
The report claims that the Spanish side ‘officially asked’ about the midfielder, who ‘doesn’t see with bad eyes’ the chances of playing for the La Liga side next season.
Libertad Digital just doesn’t make it clear if Sevilla would like to have Torreira on a loan deal or if they’d buy him from Arsenal.
The report also adds that Inter Milan remain interested in the midfielder as well.
