It may be considered that Barcelona know absolutely everything about Hector Bellerin they could ever need to know. Bellerin came through La Masia and Barcelona have kept a close eye on his progress, if only so they can kick themselves and feel wronged about Arsenal snatching away another young talent.
Despite that, Mundo Deportivo believe Robert Fernandez, Barcelona’s transfer chief, travelling to watch Arsenal beat Manchester United was a scouting mission for Bellerin. Even though he already knew Bellerin wouldn’t be starting the match.
It could be more of a message to Bellerin than a genuine scouting mission, as the building blocks of a potential transfer continue to build in the Catalan media.
Fernandez may well want Bellerin to know that, despite Wenger not starting the player recently, Barcelona still have faith.
