Months after turning 31, David Silva still seems far from the end of his career. The midfielder is still in good shape and has been important both for Spain as for Manchester City, where he has a contract running until 2019.
But his last years as a footballer were the subject of discussion in Spain last night, as when speaking to El Transistor, UD Las Palmas president Miguel Ángel Ramírez revealed his dream of signing the player in the future.
Although Silva spent his entire professional career in Spain as a Valencia player, Ramírez claims he’ll try to bring the player to finish his football days at Las Palmas.
Super Deporte have also taken quotes from a couple of years ago in which Silva says “If I’m going back to Spanish football, it will be to play for UD”.
David Silva was born in Arguineguín, a small town in the Canary Islands, home territory for UD Las Palmas. With not many famous footballers born there, it would be surely a nice thing for the Manchester City to return at some stage.
