Real Madrid are currently ‘offering €60m’ to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea but will need a further €25m if a deal is to happen.

That’s according to COPE, relayed by Sport, who say the Spanish giants are trying to work out a deal that suits all parties.

They explain that Havertz continues to be a target for Real Madrid this summer as they look to reinforce their attack following the departure of Karim Benzema.

Chelsea have put the German on the market as they need to balance the books following a year of lavish spending following Todd Boehly’s takeover.

The two clubs are negotiating for a transfer to take place but there is currently a €25m difference between what Madrid are offering and what Chelsea want.

According to COPE’s information, Chelsea wish to recover the €80m they spent to sign Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020 and make a small profit on top of that.

Madrid are currently offering €60m, which is his ‘market value’ and would be ‘willing to reach’ €85m by introducing objectives into the negotiations. It’s a similar deal to the one they’ve negotiated for Jude Bellingham.

Chelsea are so far proving resistant to the deal being offered but know they would be wise to sell now as Havertz has no intention of extending his deal, which runs until 2025, so this summer is the best one in which to let him go.

They’re ‘negotiating’ with Madrid and perhaps if the two sides can meet in the middle on that base price, in other words Madrid up their offer, a deal will be completed sooner rather than later.
