Unless Paul Pogba renews at Manchester United, rumours about his future will continue to exist until he leaves.

With a contract set to expire in the summer of 2022 and a very vocal agent, the Frenchman appears to be, at least for the time being, edging towards an exit in the summer, but things can change between now and then.

Finding some form ahead of his current injury, the midfielder looked back to his former self, the one capable of changing a game on its head in an instant that United bought back from Juventus.

The Serie A side have continuously been named as a potential suitor for Pogba regarding a return to Italy, and Calciomercato explain how desperate they are to do so, offering four players (although not all at once) over a period of time to try and convince Ed Woodward to part ways with his player.

They did so between ‘April 2020 and the last few months’, starting with the ‘idea of swapping one of either Douglas Costa or Miralem Pjanic’.

Manchester United said no to both, wanting ‘only cash’ for Pogba, around €100m to be exact.

Then came ‘Aaron Rasey and Adrien Rabiot, who popped up for a trade in the following months’, but the Red Devils ‘kept their wall high’.

Woodward repeated ‘with constancy’ that no swaps would be involved should Pogba leave, but the question remains: ‘will Solskjaer be able to ask for the same conditions even in the face of only one year of contract’?

As they state, ‘the next few months will reveal all’ and ‘Juventus will try again’.
