The weekend saw a small boost given to the Romelu Lukaku exit story, as Gazzetta dello Sport reported a ‘face to face’ meeting was expected between Inter and Manchester United.

Furthermore, the aim of said encounter would be for the two sides to find an agreement ‘immediately’, in all likelihood to try and avoid this whole saga dragging on for longer than it already has.

We now have a timeframe thanks to the very same Gazzetta dello Sport, who claim a ‘blitz’ is should take place this week, as Beppe Marotta is now ‘ready’ to present the offer they hope will convince the Red Devils.

However, for that to happen, the Premier League club will need to lower their demands a bit, as €83m is a bit much.

Over at Corriere dello Sport, it’s a very similar story (a possible meeting is also discussed), with everything now up to the clubs as Lukaku’s entourage feel they have ‘done the maximum’ possible down their end.

The Belgian striker has made his intentions clear and already agreed to a deal with the Serie A club, meaning the rest is in Manchester United’s and Inter’s court.

There’s a very brief mention of Juventus trying to get involved, but the Milan based side ‘feel in an advantageous position’ since they know how much Lukaku likes Antonio Conte and how badly he wants to play under him.
