Real Madrid now consider Trent Alexander-Arnold’s arrival from Liverpool to be a formality and the transfer to be ‘closed’.
That’s according to Cadena SER, who report that the Spanish giants consider the deal to be done and are now taking about ‘certainties’.
According to their information, Real Madrid consider the arrival of Alexander-Arnold, whose contract ends on June 30th to be finalised. They have a verbal agreement with the defender for a four-year deal.
They are no longer talking about being optimistic about signing him but treating his arrival as ‘something that is certain’. They firmly believe that it is going to happen.
Alexander-Arnold has rejected Liverpool’s proposals to renew his contract and Real Madrid have remained ‘very attentive’ to the situation. If nothing changes, he will pack his bags and head to Madrid in the summer transfer market.
Liverpool are believed to know what is happening and that is why Conor Bradley has been promoted and started more this season. He will be the new starting right-back when Alexander-Arnold departs.
That may be a response to the optimism coming from Madrid, where they are now certain Alexander-Arnold will be theirs in the summer.
Of course, that is not entirely shocking as that has been the word since around December and certainly all through the January transfer window. Still, it seems it’s now a matter of when and no longer if Alexander-Arnold leaves Liverpool.
