Juventus have now spoken to Manchester United about a deal for Anthony Martial but are yet to make an offer for the Frenchman.

That’s according to Tuttosport, who say the Italian giants want to take time to assess their options before committing to a move for the United outcast.

Martial is currently out of favour under Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford and has subsequently been linked with a move away from the club in January.

His agent recently confirmed he would like to leave and get more playing time elsewhere, something Manchester United are seemingly willing to sanction if the offer is right.

Juventus are one of the clubs who are believed to be keen, with them determined to add a centre forward to their squad in January.

Tuttosport say that talk of their interest is correct, and those in charge of the Bianconeri have ‘spoken with Manchester United’ about Martial.

However, they are ‘hesitating’ because first, they want to see if they can secure another option, or in the newspaper’s words, a player with ‘the characteristics of a top player’ and a ‘stronger sense of goal’.

Furthermore, Martial’s future is closely tied to that of Edinson Cavani, who is also pushing to leave Manchester United next month.

He is also liked by Juventus, but they would need to make an exception for him given his age, which makes him a signing for the short-term.

Barcelona also want the Uruguayan, and it’s made clear that should Cavani leave, for Juventus or Barcelona, Martial would be kept in Manchester and vice versa.

Either way, talks have been opened with Manchester United about the possibility of a move for the Frenchman, although it seems Juventus are willing to wait and see if they can sign someone better first.
