Tottenham’s Emerson Royal is ‘close’ to a move to AC Milan, with their two clubs now much closer to an agreement for him.
That’s according to Milan News 24, relaying information from journalist Manuele Baiocchini, who has provided an update on the drawn-out saga.
He has appeared on Sky Sport’s Italian outlet and is quoted as saying that “Milan are getting very close to Emerson Royal. Tottenham are asking for €20m while Milan have reached €15m plus bonuses.”
That’s brought the two clubs closer to finding an agreement for the defender, who has already made it known publically that he wants to make the switch.
Tottenham have remained resolute on their asking price of €20m and refused to move over the last weeks, even when Milan have pulled away and looked around the market at other options.
Indeed, there was a belief that the whole negotiation had hit a standstill and was deadlocked, but a report yesterday stated that Milan had decided to revive the matter and that the Tottenham man was the one they wanted.
They still need to actually match Tottenham’s demands, of course, but are creeping ever closer to that point and seem to be finally getting serious about pushing this deal over the line.
