Real Betis have ‘notified’ Tottenham that they want to sign Giovani Lo Celso on loan this summer, and they’re also eyeing up a potential deal for Davinson Sánchez.
That’s according to ABC Sevilla, who say Betis sporting director Ramón Planes and their CEO Ramón Alarcón are currently in the United Kingdom holding talks with various parties.
The newspaper explains that the pair have travelled to the UK as part of Betis’ pre-season tour, where they are playing various friendlies and training at St George’s Park.
They’re ‘taking advantage’ of the trip to meet with various clubs, agents and intermediaries to discuss transfer business and that includes Tottenham.
The newspaper states that Spurs have ‘already been notified’ by Betis that they would like to re-sign Lo Celso on loan, but that it would be an operation for the end of the market and only if the Argentine does not reach an agreement with any other club beforehand.
Defender Davinson Sánchez is also on their list of targets, particularly if they sell Luiz Felipe to West Ham, and talks are being held regarding him.
His contract with Tottenham expires next summer and so there is a belief he can be secured for ‘a much lower amount’ than the €42m Spurs paid to sign him from Ajax in 2017.
That tallies with a report yesterday which stated that Betis could get the defender for as little as €7m and a deal was advanced.
It remains to be seen whether the Colombian does indeed end up at Betis but is certain is that Planes and Alarcón are in the UK and taking advantage of that to discuss a possible deal for him.
