Wolverhampton Wanderers are one of the clubs chasing Cerro Porteño’s Gabriel Aguayo.

At the start of this year, the winger was promoted to the Paraguayan club’s first team and he’s managed a goal and four assists from 18 games so far.

Monumental AM 1080 in Paraguay claims the 19-year-old’s displays have aroused interest from other clubs, including Wolves.

It’s claimed the Premier League side have been closely following his performances for Cerro Porteño.

Wolves aren’t the only club looking at him as Monumental AM 1080 claim both DC United and Nashville Soccer from MLS are ‘lurking’ around the youngster.

The English press had initially reported Wolves are in the picture to sign the player. This is now relayed by Versus, who then share their own update on this case.

Cerro Porteño have already rejected a bid close to $2m [£1.55m] from Argentine side CA Talleres.

The outlet adds the Paraguayan club will have ‘no problem’ selling Aguayo to Wolves this summer, if they were to make a real and tempting offer. It’s clear that Gary O’Neil’s side have to offer more than £1.55m to try and secure the attacker’s services.
