On January 29th, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Hellas Verona were interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Juan Foyth on a free loan deal with a view to buy for €10m.
Later that day, we covered claims from Italy that Spurs had dismissed the proposal made by Hellas Verona.
Local newspaper Il Secolo XIX now explains Sampdoria have set their sights on the centre-back and their idea is to take him on a loan deal until the end of the season.
It’s claimed the Genoa based side have found an agreement with the north London club for the Argentina international’s temporary transfer, and they are now negotiation with the 22-year-old. Any potential transfer would only take place if the player gives his approval.
Foyth has seen his playing time with José Mourinho’s side restricted as he’s made only three starts in all competitions this season.
The report doesn’t mention if Sampdoria are willing to pay a fee to Tottenham for Foyth’s loan deal and if they are, what would be the amount.
