Lazio are ‘working on the market’ to improve their squad this summer and have their eye on Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham.
That’s according to Corriere della Sera, who hint that the Italians may need to drum up extra funds if they are to get the midfielder.
The newspaper explains that Lazio are working to improve their squad at this moment in time, looking for a player who can raise the technical level of the squad but also, crucially, add goals.
They likewise want to reduce the average age of the squad and bring in players with great athletic qualities, all of which they think Bellingham can bring.
They like the Sunderland man but before they can ‘sink the blow’ for the player, they need to make sales as the Black Cats want more than the €10m Lazio have to spend.
To be clear, Lazio have €10m to spend on any transfers at this moment in time and even using all of that wouldn’t be enough for them to get Bellingham out of Sunderland for now. They want more than that for the 18-year-old.
What their actual asking price current stands at isn’t made clear, but Lazio can’t afford him yet and need to move players on before they can move.
