In the last 24 hours, various Italian outlets have pointed out Lazio’s interest in signing Manchester United’s Juan Mata in the next market.
Il Tempo and La Repubblica both had reports explaining the Serie A side are willing to offer a two-year deal worth €4m per season, while the 33-year-old’s agent is asking an annual salary of €5m net.
Mata’s current deal runs down at the end of this season, but the Red Devils have an option to further extend it by a year.
As things stand, United haven’t exercised it, meaning the former Chelsea star can leave Old Trafford as a free agent in the summer.
