Fotospor report Trabzonspor need to act quickly to sign Leicester City midfielder Nampalys Mendy this summer, when his contract expires with the Foxes.
Earlier this week we covered reports the Super Lig leaders are interested in Mendy and will make an offer to the player soon.
According to Fotospor, other clubs have joined the race for the Frenchman, and subsequently Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu will be personally involved in the discussions.
It’s reported Agaoglu has held talks with Mendy’s agent Ahmed Egal and informed him they are interested in his client.
The Turkish side lost former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel in March after he terminated his contract, and signing a replacement has become a priority ahead of the next window.
Other defensive midfielders have been linked with a move to Trabzonspor, but Mendy keeps popping.
It’s likely the former Nice midfielder won’t be offered a new contract at Leicester City, after making just six appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side this season.
