Sky Sports UK touched upon Marc Guehi’s future on Thursday, and claimed there’s been interest from clubs around Europe.

In the Premier League, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United were credited with interest. For mainland Europe it was Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Sources they’d spoken to put a value of ‘at least’ £70m on the Crystal Palace player, partly inspired by what Everton have been asking for Jarrad Branthwaite.

Calciomercato have picked up on that and make it very clear the Eagles player will not be moving to Juventus this summer. A fee around £70m means the Turin club have to ‘surrender’ any interest they have and look at other targets.

That don’t deny the interest, but insist such a level of finances is ‘too uphill’ for the Serie A club and simply not something they’d consider.

To underline that, the Italian media have more generally been reporting that Juventus are keen to sign Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice. Their preference for that deal is pay not much over €20m and make up the rest via youth players they don’t want.

That clearly shows they would not be in the Guehi race even if one kicked off.
