In March of this year, Kristoffer Ajer’s agent Tore Pedersen stressed the defender will not sign an extension and wants to leave Celtic this summer.
At the start of last month, Pederesen confirmed he has ended his association with the centre-back and the latter is now represented by SEG (Sports Entertainment Group).
AC Milan and Leicester City have been regularly discussed as the two clubs interested in the Norway international.
On June 30th, Calciomercato explained the Foxes are posing an ‘obstacle’ for the Rossoneri to sign the 22-year-old.
According to Sky Italia, Ajer’s name is ‘very welcome’ for the centre-back position at the San Siro. However, Milan must ‘beware competition’ from Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Ajer played under Rodgers when the Leicester manager was at Celtic, and the Norther Irishman remains keen on reuniting with his former defender.
It’s claimed the Premier League side are ‘ready to launch’ their first offer for Neil Lennon’s star. Sky, however, doesn’t mention when Leicester are expected to make an offer or the fee they are willing to pay for Ajer.
