Sevilla are ‘mulling over’ a loan deal for Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr and contacts have already taken place about it.
That’s according to journalist Marcos Benito, who say the 20-year-old could end up spending the rest of the season in Spain.
Sarr joined Tottenham in a €16.9m deal from FC Metz in August 2021 before spending last season on loan with the French side.
He return to Spurs in the summer but has barely featured this season, with no appearances in the Premier League, Champions League or EFL Cup and just two in the Premier League 2.
That’s less than ideal for a 20-year-old player who needs regular playing time to continue his development and there has been talk he could depart on loan again in January.
It seems Sevilla are now looking to make that a reality, with Sarr reporting that they are ‘mulling over’ the idea of getting the player on loan.
The nature of those talks isn’t mentioned, nor are the finer details of the possible loan move, just that the two clubs are in contact about a potential deal.
With the January transfer window fast approaching we’re sure those will come out sooner rather than later, but for now it appears Sarr is very much a target for Sevilla.
