Ianis Hagi is a footballer whose name will always go before him and that helps attract transfer interest.
The Rangers player has been the subject of endless rumours in recent months and whether he’ll continue with Steven Gerrard’s side is uncertain.
Rangers have an option in the loan deal with Genk which means they can automatically sign Hagi should they wish to. That could either lead to a longer period with the club or an opportunity to sell for a profit.
Lazio are one of the clubs to have been linked, and Gazzetta dello Sport call the Rangers player the ‘son of an artist’, due to his father being Gheorghe Hagi.
The Serie A club looked at signing Hagi a year ago, and are now ‘moving’ for the player and ‘studying’ their options to get him for a cheap price, with the hope the 21 year old would develop further.
Gazzetta believe it would be easier for Lazio if Rangers don’t use their buying option, because getting him from the Scottish Premiership side after a permanent move would be ‘more complicated’ and ‘require a greater outlay’.
