Prior to Rangers completing a deal to sign Ianis Hagi on a permanent deal from Genk, there were multiple reports of interest in the Romanian from Italy.

Serie A sides were sniffing around Steven Gerrard’s player, yet when it came to the potential price payable to Rangers things didn’t seem to fit what the Glasgow club would be looking for.

Lazio were one of the Serie A clubs said to be keen on Hagi, and their interest is creeping back into the Italian media. Noi Biancocelesti, who specialise in the Rome club, report that Lazio could reignite their interest in the Rangers player ahead of the summer transfer window.

It’s unlikely they’ll look to make Andreas Pereira’s loan move permanent, with the Manchester United owned player failing to shine and also likely to cost more than Lazio would want to part with.

Therefore, other options are being considered, and Rangers’ Ianis Hagi is seen as a possibility. However, the report states the 22-year-old’s value is around €6m, and that’s where things may get difficult.

Rangers would likely ask for more, knowing that Hagi has several clubs interested around Europe. Gerrard is unlikely to settle for €6m, and once Lazio realise that they may move on to other options.
