Yesterday we brought you news from Spain that Sevilla had looked at signing West Ham United striker Javier Hernández.
The Spanish side are keen on adding another striker to their squad before the end of the transfer window and Hernández was one they were looking at.
However, an injury to Michail Antonio had seemingly scuppered the deal.
That doesn’t appear to be the case, with Diario de Sevilla and AS both claiming Hernández could end up leaving West Ham after all.
Diario report Sevilla are ‘close to closing the recruitment’ after Monchi and Julen Lopetegui decided to add another forward to the squad this week.
Hernández was not initially in the club’s plans but following a meeting on Tuesday, Monchi asked to sign a striker and Hernández was the one they decided on.
They therefore made a decision to ‘make an economic effort’ to get the Hammers forward.
This is backed up by AS, who claim the deal is close to completion and Hernández should arrive in Spain at some point today to undergo a medical and complete his move.
They say Sevilla have negotiated a deal worth €9m with variables with West Ham, while Hernández will sign a three-deal with the La Liga club.
