According to Turkish newspaper Fanatik, Fenerbahce are making progress in their pursuit of Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo.

The Argentine has recently been linked with a move to the Turkish club after they failed to sign AS Roma’s Aleksandar Kolarov, and Fanatik report Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli has managed to convince the player over a move to Istanbul.

Fanatik say Rojo has said yes to Fenerbahce and the Super Lig side side are now looking to reach an agreement with Manchester United over a season-long loan deal.

Despite the Turkish transfer deadline approaching it’s reported Fenerbahce manager Ersun Yanal has some reservations about Rojo as he fears his lack of first team football in the past two seasons could be a problem.

However, due to a lack of options in the transfer market he could give the green light to bring in the Manchester United player.

The former Sporting player is under contract with the English club until June 2021 but seems surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
