For the past couple of days, we’ve seen the Italian media getting pretty confident that Leeds United will sign Nahitan Nandez from Cagliari.

Local reports first said the midfielder was ‘ready to leave’ for the Whites, with more claims this morning saying the Premier League side have the signing ‘in their hands’.

However, it seems there’s another club who want the player and won’t let him move to Elland Road so easily. That’s Inter Milan.

According to Il Giorno (via Cagliari News 24), the Nerazzurri won’t give up on his signing, even though his agent already hinted at a move to Leeds United.

It’s claimed that an Inter Milan offer includes Radja Nainggolan and Andrea Pinamonti in the deal. It’s just not said if that’d be enough to beat Leeds to Nandez.

The midfielder is protected by a release clause of €36m, and according to those recent reports, the Whites would break their transfer record by paying that amount.

Other Serie A sides such as Napoli and AS Roma have been said to be in the race for the Uruguay international as well.
