Barcelona are keen on Lyon youngster Willem Geubbels, report Mundo Deportivo, and that’s prompted the Catalan newspaper to look at possible competition.
A claim from France this week stated RB Leipzig are keen to sign the youngster, as part of their plan to hoover up young talent around Europe, and Mundo Deportivo say Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested.
Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho both have extensive scouting networks at their clubs so will be aware of the 16 year old striker.
Arsenal have scouted Lyon for some time, keeping an eye on the situation when Anthony Martial came through the system, before he then moved to Monaco and on to Manchester United.
Geubbels’s Lyon contract expires at the end of June, and that gives an opportunity for other clubs to swoop in for him.
The French club’s president this week publicly pressured the youngster’s father into agreeing a new deal, saying Lyon have never offered a youngster as good terms as they’re prepared to give Geubbels, and a reply is quickly needed.
Barcelona, Manchester United and Arsenal will be circling like transfer vultures, hoping the contract isn’t signed.
