In 2017, Watford signed Luis Javier Suárez Charris from Colombian side Leones and he was immediately loaned out to Real Valladolid B.

The forward spent last season on loan at second division Spanish side Gimnàstic de Tarragon, scoring six goals and registering two assists in the league.

It was sufficient for him to draw attention from Real Zaragoza, who are keen on acquiring his services.

On June 11th, El Periódico de Aragón reported the Hornets were set to take a decision on the player and stressed the English side will only consider another temporary move.

Thursday’s edition of Spanish newspaper AS claims Suarez will be the ‘first major reinforcement’ of the 2019/20 season for Zaragoza.

It’s stated the club’s sporting director Lalo Arantegui has finalised a loan deal with an option to buy.

Despite having other options, the Watford owned player had a preference to join Zaragoza. The report explains there are minor details that need sorting, but stressed there will not be any more twists for the 21-year-old to join the club.

Zaragoza’s idea is to announce the transfer as soon as possible, with next week seen as the likely time.
