According to a claim in the Turkish media, Besiktas have identified Watford’s Danny Welbeck as a potential successor for their captain Burak Yilmaz.

Yilmaz is in advanced talks with French side Lille and latest reports in Turkey suggested that he will sign a two-year contract with Christopher Galtier’s side in the coming days.

Subsequently, the Turkish side are in the market to replace the veteran attacker and Fotomac report Watford’s Welbeck has emerged as a target.

It’s reported that Welbeck will leave Watford due to their relegation to the Championship, and Besiktas could make a loan offer to sign the player.

After sacking Nigel Pearson with two games to go, Watford failed to defeat Arsenal yesterday, resulting in relegation.

The former Manchester United and Arsenal striker has made 17 appearances for Watford in the Premier League this season, scoring one goal. His contract at Vicarage Road will expire at the end of June 2022.
