Sampdoria have made Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet their ‘dream’ signing this summer and are ‘thinking of bidding’ for him.

That’s according to Il Secolo XIX, relayed by Samp News 24, who say Torino are also involved in the race for the midfielder’s signature.

Praet has spent this past season on loan with Torino after it was made clear he was not a part of Brendan Rodgers plans for the campaign.

He went on to make 24 appearances in all competitions for the Italian club and has been linked with a permanent move there this summer as a result.

Former club Sampdoria are also keen, though, with Il Secolo XIX reporting that he is the club’s ‘market dream’ for this window.

Lawyer Antonio Romei, who is in charge of negotiations alongside president Marco Lana, is ‘thinking about’ a move, but the road is not an easy one.

There is competition from Torino, who also want to sign the midfielder from Leicester after he spent the season on loan with them.

Indeed, manager Ivan Juric has specifically asked president Urbano Cairo to sign him on a permanent basis.

Leicester are more than happy to sell and have even put the Belgian midfielder ‘up for sale’, but will only accept €12m and are insisting there will be ‘no deferred payment’ in any deal.
