Galatasaray are said to be in the final stage of talks over their top scorer Bafetimbi Gomis and the former Swansea City striker looks likely to continue his career in Saudi Arabia after the Turkish club accepted a €6m offer from Al Nassr.
Milliyet report Galatasaray are now looking to replace Gomis, who scored 29 goals in the Turkish Super Lig last season, and their top priority is Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck.
It’s reported talks with Arsenal regarding Welbeck are ongoing and the Gunners are demanding €10m for the 27 year old but Galatasaray only willing to offer €5m.
According to Milliyet, the Istanbul club’s manager Fatih Terim feels Welbeck can fill the void left by Gomis and the 63 year old believes the Arsenal player will suit his style of play.
Welbeck’s chances at Arsenal will be limited after the arrivals of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the past 12 months and Galatasaray are hoping they can convince the English international with the prospect of Champions League football.
If they fail to land Welbeck, Milliyet believes Everton’s Oumar Niasse could be another target for Galatasaray, along with Tianjin’s Anthony Modeste.
