Leicester City forward Rachid Ghezzal is now looking more likely to join Galatasaray than Besiktas after they came to an agreement with his management about a move.
That’s according to Fotomac, who provide the numbers behind the potential shock transfer for the Algerian.
For those that don’t know, Ghezzal spent last season on loan with Besiktas and was one of the star players of their eventual title success.
They are keen to have him back but have been locked in negotiations with Leicester and his management for the best part of two months trying to get a deal over the line.
Fotomac now say they are in the driving seat, with the Super Lig side making ‘great efforts’ to ensure it is they who get Ghezzal.
They explain that Gala have made made ‘serious progress’ in the race for the Leicester man and have tempted his agency and advisors with various offers.
It’s stated that Galatasaray have offered 8% of the player to his team at World in Motion, 2% to his advisory Andülkadir and 1% to his close friend Anwar Faddouli.
They have also offered to reimburse any costs the latter has incurred travelling and staying in Turkey for talks.
So, if a transfer was to take place, Ghezzal’s management company will be paid €960k, Abdülrezzak Ghezzal will be paid €240k, and Faddouli will be paid €120k.
In total, they’d be paying out around €1.3m to his representatives, which is vastly more than Besiktas’ total of €480k.
Thus, all sides are now favouring Galatasaray, and the player is ‘ready’ to make the move, so efforts are now being made to get Leicester’s approval and bring this complicated saga to an end.
