As Arsenal winger Marquinhos continues to wait for his transfer to Fluminense to be confirmed, the Brazilian media shares more updates on these negotiations.
Newspaper O Dia today writes that the 20-year-old is ‘awaited’ by the Tricolor while he takes part in the pre-Olympic tournament with Brazil.
It’s said Fluminense ‘made progress in the negotiations’ with Arsenal, as they negotiate a loan with an option to buy.
After the end of the pre-Olympic tournament, Marquinhos is still expected to go to Europe to sort out bureaucratic details, and only then will he arrive in Brazil to sign with Fluminense.
The story claims that the Rio de Janeiro side will only take the transfer as certain once the contract is finally signed.
The South American side are expected to pay Arsenal a fee for the loan, but that amount isn’t revealed, neither is the one in the buying option.
Marquinhos was signed by the Gunners in 2022 for €3.5m, and just returned to the club following an unsuccessful loan spell at Nantes, so we wouldn’t expect his transfer to involve much money.
