Signed from Inter back in 2019 for a fee of over £6m, George Puscas has seen his form drop dramatically over the past couple of years at Reading FC.

Scoring 14 goals in his first season with the Royals, the Romania international only found the back of the net four times during the 2020-21 campaign, with that tally now down to two this time around, and that’s despite him making 26 appearances in all competitions.

The 25-year-old might have scored in the 4-3 loss to Huddersfield, but that could be his last goal for Reading, as Pisa in Serie B are keen on him.

That’s because they could be losing their star striker Lorenzo Lucca to Sassuolo, meaning they will need a replacement, with Puscas targeted.

Gianluca Di Marzio explains there have been ‘new contacts’ from the Italians for the Romanian, following some ‘a week ago’.

It’s pointed out it’s a deal they ‘want to close regardless’ of what happens to Lucca, perhaps knowing that if they don’t sell the towering striker in January, they most likely will in the summer.

Either way, Pisa want to take Puscas away from the Select Car Leasing Stadium in January.
