Fresh off the insistent rumours Roma were interested in bringing Moise Kean back to Italy (which then disappeared), Corriere dello Sport claimed on December 6th that Bologna and their manager Sinisa Mihajlovic had highlighted the youngster to potentially bolster their attack.
The news came as part of an article on their attempts to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as the Swede will be a free agent when his deal with LA Galaxy expires at the end of the month, but if they failed in their endeavours, then their attention would turn elsewhere.
Everton’s Kean and Milan’s Krzysztof Piątek were the two mentioned in the article, and there’s now been further confirmation from Italy, this time from La Repubblica, that the former Juventus youngster is well and truly in Bologna’s sight.
The scenario is the same, with Ibrahimovic the number one target, but the Italian newspaper claim the plan B includes younger names, like the Toffees’ player and Wolverhampton’s Patrick Cutrone.
It’s said contacts were made for both on Saturday (December 7th), as they are currently being ‘underemployed’ by their respective clubs, and the pair are ‘eager to regain a spot in the sun’ in Serie A.
For Kean, La Repubblica say the situation is particularly interesting, since any negotiations for his services would need to be done with the same agent as for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, meaning Mino Raiola, who has an ‘excellent relationship’ with the Bologna board.
That could help in any negotiations, but Everton will also have a say in all this, and we doubt they’ll let their summer investment go without a fight.
