Here we are, two days before January 1st, and Andreas Christensen still hasn’t renewed his contract with Chelsea.
The Denmark international is in the same boat as Antonio Rüdiger and César Azpilicueta, meaning he will be able to talk to foreign clubs from Saturday onwards regarding a free transfer in the summer.
There’s no guarantee that he’ll agree anything with anyone, but one thing is looking increasingly likely: Milan will give it their best shot.
That’s because, according to Corriere dello Sport, Christensen is ‘one of the favourites’ to bolster the defence at San Siro, and while Chelsea are ‘doing everything’ to renew him, they haven’t managed to do so yet.
For Milan, the Dane would be the ‘perfect solution’, seeing as he is still young at 25 years of age but has a lot of experience under his belt.
We’ll have to wait and see what comes of this, but Chelsea need to do something about this, or another club will end up profiting.
