Marseille have ‘made a call’ to Tottenham to inquire about a loan deal for Bryan Gil next season.
That’s according to journalist Nabil Djellit, who says the French side are keen on signing the 20-year-old if he is still not a part of Antonio Conte’s plans at Tottenham.
The forward spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia, having endured a difficult few months at the club after arriving from Sevilla last summer.
He established himself as a key player at the Spanish club, with a series of impressive performances under Jose Bordalas, making him a firm fan favourite.
Several reports have made it clear they are happy to send Gil out once again but have loftier plans for the player next season and want him to play for a side competing in Europe.
Marseille can offer that after securing Champions League football, so on the face of it, their chances of securing this deal would be quite high.
It should be said, though, that if Tottenham make it clear they’ll accept another loan, then Valencia will certainly try for it again, and they’ve worked hard to make Gil love life at the Mestalla, so that could play a part.
It all depends on Tottenham and what they want to do, but Marseille have been in touch to present an alternative option for Gil next season.
