Barcelona’s sporting director, Robert Fernandez, was spotted at the Gillette Stadium to watch the Cope America match between Argentina and Venezuela.
Catalan based newspaper Sport say Fernandez was there to watch Barcelona stars Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano, but he also kept a close eye one Everton’s Ramiro Funes Mori.
Funes Mori has been a long term target for Barcelona, but instead signed for the Merseyside club at the start of the season from River Plate.
Sport say the chances of Barcelona signing Funes Mori this summer are slim, but he could be a good bet for the future.
His agent, Jorge Cysterpiller, is very much aware of the interest from the Catalan giants, but no discussions have taken place yet.
Spanish media have reported several times that Barcelona are keeping tabs on the Argentine international, and they seem to be quite confident about it.
Funes Mori had an average first season at Everton, and interest from Barcelona is a bit surprising, but as Sport say he could be a good bet for the future.
